User experience design (UX design, UXD, UED, or XD) is the process of defining the experience a user would go through when interacting with a company, its services, and its products. Design decisions in UX design are often driven by research, data analysis, and test results rather than aesthetic preferences and opinions. Unlike user interface design, which focuses solely on the design of a computer interface, UX design encompasses all aspects of a user's perceived experience with a product or website, such as its usability, usefulness, desirability, brand perception, and overall performance.

For Kojima Productions

While I have almost no relevant work experience in the game industry, I've always been a huge fan of games, especially the ones which have a captivating story, a rich world and atmosphere, and great game design.

Coming from my love of movies and photography, and my 18 years of doing photography, my favorite technological trend right now is how games and the movie industry is having better and better synergy, influencing each other in a huge way. Games becoming more cinematic in their photography and animations, using simulated camera effects and imperfections, using pre-recorded acting from real actors, and such. It makes me excited to imagine how future games can feel like movies we can actually play and shape its story.

A game I recently found very interesting is Overwatch, because its game design is incredible. The way the creators thought about seemingly every little detail, like how each playable character has a different walking pattern, a different way to breath and unique quirks they do when idle, how all their movements show their personality, and such. As a UI/UX designer, this is hugely inspirational for me and resonates with how I design.
